Decoration

My First Handmade Baptism Project

My first experience creating a little dress and decorative elements for a baptism took place about three years ago. A dear friend asked me to take care of the baby’s dress and also help with some of the decorations for this special day. The joy I felt at that moment is difficult to describe.

On one hand, it was recognition of my work, and on the other, it was an opportunity to express all my love, experience, and creativity in such a meaningful event as a baptism. It was even more special because it was for a close friend with whom I share so many memories and bonds.

Techniques and Materials

For these creations, I used several different handcraft techniques, including embroidery, knitting with needles, and crochet. The main material I chose was cotton yarn, which I used for every element of the project.

The baptism dress for the little girl was knitted with needles and then decorated with embroidered flowers made using different colors and stitching techniques. At the same time, I created small baskets with wooden bases, carefully crocheted by hand.

Creating a Warm Celebration Atmosphere

The decoration of the baptism had a strong personal touch. Around the space we placed colorful skeins of cotton yarn with matching tassels, creating a warm and truly handmade atmosphere.

This project became one of the most memorable collaborations for me. I still look back on it with warmth and feel proud of the final result.
